Emergency First Aid at Work   Course Price: £60 pp
(was Appointed Person prior to October 2009 due to HSE regulation changes)

The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (1981) require that an employer provides suitable arrangements
for rendering First Aid to persons injured at work. Dependent upon the perceived risks associated with the
business and the availability of qualified assistance, persons should be trained to either “designated” or
“appointed” level.

The LIVES Emergency First Aid at Work course is a one day course which covers the requirements for the
‘appointed’ person, and consists of the following subjects. It is valid for a period of three years:

� Basic Life Support

� Choking

� Recovery Position

� Basic wound / Haemorrhage care

� Shock

� Anaphylactic Shock

� Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation

� Work related Accidents / Illness

� Accident Reporting
